If recall corretly he wanted to retire after the Cup but they convinced him to do it one more year?! What a crappy move by the Bolts.

Eklund says it's a false Leafs Lunch report that. For those that aren't aware of Leafs Lunch it's about as reliable as Eklund. So who knows?

My first thought was salary dump but 800k isn't killing their cap. Who could they replace him with that provides what he does in the room and on the ice? Who in the room would disagree with #25? I guess Vinny and Brad run the show.

He's still a member of their team, he can just be picked up at any moment.

Darkstar - I know they were pretty upset at the start of the year with their cap situation. The team is very much Richards and Lecavalier's at this point.

I don't know if you guys watch him or not...Apparently not. He is still used for PK, PP, even strength. The PK surprises me a lot. But he can still play the game. Not just stand in front of the net. He is still a smart mind. On pace for a 35 or so pt season, which is not bad for a 41 yo

I wasn't doubting Dave as great vet, I just know that he regularly practiced hours sitting in front of the net deflecting shots

He does all of those things, but his value is in his leadership. There were better scorers, better PKer, and overall players available for his price, that didn't have the leadership. He's a decent player, but he makes his living off of his leadership at this point.
