SherSports 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 I just wanted to share a little story. Yesterday, I met Peter Bondra in my LHS. He was at the rink watching his son play in a tournament. He actually came in looking for a cell phone charger. In my store, I actually keep my charger and it worked on his phone as well. After plugging his phone in, I joked now I have all your important numbers. His reply was to pull out a small laminated piece of paper and said who do you want to call. Kovalchuk, Hossa. We all had a laugh about it. He proceeded to look at my inventory of sticks. He was impressed with the Salming Evolution.Great Guy.

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 Well, I liked the most exciting part of your story -- that you keep your charger in the store.... :D Do they still live in DC? And could you tell whether his son is a chip off the old block?
SherSports 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 He his playing for the Thrashers this season, currently injured. But I asked him how he liked ATL. he said it was good, but he would like it better if he was playing better.By the way, he took a long look at the Evolution. Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 Okay, now I feel uneducated! But I hadn't heard his name this season, nor did I remember him retiring, so when I read your post, I figured he must have been one of the guys who quietly retired during the lockout.Man, he's been a sniper over his career... Crazy Otto 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2006 Great player, unfortunately near the end of his career. Played great for a lot of bad Caps teams over the years until he went to Ottawa before the lockout, now with Thrashers.

sonsplayhockey 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2006 Bonzai!!!!!His son played at Piney Orchard with a friend of mine's son back in Squirt last year.Met him once when I did paperwork for a Caps training camp as they were doing the dental exam. Nice guy, We had to give him up to pay for Ovechkin. Too bad we could not keep both.
