Keeping your tongue down

hi

i normally fold my tongue over my leg guards [the tongue goes straight or even down]

now i was wondering... how do you guys do it?

i normally tape it down but it goes back up after 30 mins. i even got an idea off of the internet to heatgun it while taped. that made the inside of the tongue hard. [no noticable difference surprisingly] ;)

so any ideas?

I think your talkin about wearing your tounges out like kovy style right? It could be the tounge material. I Know my missions s500s tounge material wont do that. Might have to get the tounges replaced.

over time it will shape itself. Is it restricting your forward motion? when you aren't skating lace and tie your skates and then use something to pull the tongue to where you want. probably won't take more than a week to get it to where you want.

Also like graf tounges do it like automatically. Thats why I think the material could be the cause.

what type of skate? usually you can make slits in the tongue making it auto fold down

I have had Eastons for like 5 years now and always put the tongue under the shinpad. My tongue almost seems to be made for that on my Synegry 1300s. Just got them a few days ago and they fit under fine. It could be the type of shinpad too. Some are really tight to the leg. I have Missions and it has some funky strap that's annoying.

i had a pair o ultra lites i think it was two years ago.

the tongue wanted to flop and bend under my shin pad.

Also this affiliate player we call up has UL's and his stick down as well.

might just be what im noticing but who knows.

if you really want it down i guess after tying your laces your could fold it down, and wrap tape over it andbetween the boot and the runner? as long as it flexes when you move it should be fine with it normal.

My tungs on my ultra lights automatically fold down, except, there arnt long enought to stick out because I lace to the top eyelit

"Scoring" is when you take a blade or knife and trace a line where you want it to fold. It's not like an actual cut. So you would take a knife and tarce a line along the leather where you want it to fold and then bend it down.
