For the Rocker, you would be looking at a Medium sized chassis. I did the same thing on a Size 8 Classic Gold Bauer boot and the medium chassis fit perfectly.

I have a new pair of Nike V-Force boots size 8D on the way that I bought from another modsquad member. I'd like to put a chassis on them and use them for roller this year, but want to ensure I use the right size chassis and also need to make a final decision on a chassis (after that's done I'll either use some existing wheels or invest in new ones).

What size chassis would I need for the 8D Vforce? The Vforce is supposed to be between a V12 and V10 (not flexlite, but the model before that) and should also fit similar to the Nike Hi Hos based on what I've read.

I have some Quest 1's with the rocker chassis that I used last year and part of the year before. Before that I used Vapor 6 skates with the rocker chassis so I'm quite used to the rocker chassis. I think the chassis on my Quest 1's are a size medium rocker and I'm considering using that chassis on the Vforce skates. On the smarthockey site it seems that that size of skate is just on the border of a small or a medium so I'm not sure if I should use the medium or the small if I continue with the rocker. I also may just buy a new rocker chassis so I can use my Quest 1's for outdoor pickup games.

While I'm leaning toward using the rockers again I'm open to trying a Hi-Lo chassis or the Hummer chassis if I can find one for a good price that fits the skates and it would provide better performance...I've read the rocker debates here and some valid points are made on both sides of the argument. Before the rocker chassis I used flat chassis' - first with all 72mm wheels and then with all 76mm wheels and played well with those. The rocker feels more like ice, but sometimes I do slide out when the floors are a little dusty (when playing on smooth concrete) and that didn't seem to happen as often when I used the flat chassis...it does make the transition between ice and roller easier though. I also have a few sets of 76mm wheels so using the rocker would allow me to make use of them...the other chassis' would mean buying new wheels.

I play more ice than roller - just men's league ice hockey though...nothing serious. For rollerhockey I usually play in the second highest division (if there's Pro, A, B, and C I'll usually play A. If there's Tier 1 to 5 I'll usually play Tier 2) and am in the middle of the pack for the league when it comes to scoring - so a decent player, but certainly not an elite level player. I started skating on blades when I was 11 and I'm 28 now...I started playing organized inline when I was 16. However, I started ice skating first (when I was about 5) and played organized ice hockey well before rollerhockey...I'd say I'm a strong skater in roller hockey, but a better ice hockey skater. I can get good speed going and make decent moves, but I can't really stop on a dime or do a nice tight spin move as easily as I can on ice, however I've seen other guys on my teams or in the leagues do this. I mean I can turn reasonably well, but I'd never attempt to turn blades as hard as I do on ice. Maybe it's because I've always just used stock wheels or wheels I've picked up cheap on clearout. I'm 6'2", 210lbs and usually play forward if that helps with the recommendations.

I saw mentioned in one of the threads a Tour deal with free mounting and wheels when buying the Hummer - can anyone elaborate? The other frame I've read good things about is the Red Star Alloy if I'm going to go Hi Lo...of course I'd imagine mission Hi Lo chassis' would perform well too.

So to sum up this extremely long post I have two basic questions:

1. What size of chassis would I need for the Tuuk Rocker, Mission Hi Lo, Redstar, and Hummer? (I think it would be the same as for the CCM size 8 mentioned above, but want to be sure)

2. Which chassis would you recommed for my size and the level I'm playing at and why?

I'm leaning toward continuing with the rocker, but am open to hearing other opinions and will seriously consider them. Thanks.
