Roller hockey coming up.

Recommended Posts

Currently, i am playing ice hockey but the season is ending in a couple of months. In the summer i love to play roller hockey for a couple of teams. My wheels are shot. If anyone has any ideas for what kind of new wheels i should get, let me know. I dont want to spend to much on them. Let me know what kind, the price, and where can i get them

I would strongly suggest the Rink Rat Hot Shots. Depending on your weight you will want to choose the hardness, 76A for light weight and 80A for heavier. The hot shots are a very good and very durable wheel that will last you all summer and longer depending on your frequency of play and your surface. You can get the wheels at most online hockey shops but I would recommend www.inlinewarehouse.com because they give you free shipping on orders of 50 bucks or more. The wheels I believe are 6 bucks each, or if those are a bit pricey I would try the TB 822. They seem like a very nice alternative at a couple bucks cheaper than the Hot Shots. Don't buy Hyper Wheels.

I have Rink Rat MB 816's on my new Helium 10k's

Wheels were awesome... untill the second training session where one of the front ones blew out...

I was kinda surprised as I'm not that heavy or hard on my skates (i thought)

They were the 76A wheels... So I might try harder ones next.

But yeah other than the blow out they were extremely nice wheels.

It could have been a one off fluke, but some of the others have wear signs.. I'll know by the end of the week.

I skate on smoothed/painted concrete.

Thats why...RR's arent meant to be used on painted concrete or reg. concrete unless they are the world cup model

Cool thanks for that guys....

I'll save the RR's for when we play on sport court rinks.

What could you suggest for concrete? (like I said it is smooth polished and painted)

I see everyone's saying stay away from hypers?

RR wheels are perfect for that kinda of concrete... i think they are thinking of outdoor on the street concrete cause if you use those world cup wheels on a indoor concrete rink you'll just slide all over the place.

a lot of wheel stuff is trial and error...

I was hyper guy forever, but the newer stuff ('00 forward) hasn't worked for me..

I've used Revision for the past 6 months or so and love them..

prior to I'd used the Hornet's..also a good wheel...and they'd be my first choice if the Revision's were out of stock..

The Labeda Genesis is our high end light weight mini-bearing wheel. If you have mini's they are definitely the way to go, great grip, speed and wear in an extremely light wheel. They had a few core issues when they first came out but the problems have been remedied and the wheels are phenomenal.

The Fuzion is Labeda's newest 608 wheel and in my opinion the hottest wheel of 2006. I would put it up against any other wheel companies top wheel and watch it come out on top. Unmatched grip, speed and wear and lighter by a few grams to boot! All of the top players swear by them.
