Vapor XXX skate questions

1. Do they really fall apart as bad as people say (i.e. Puckmugger) they do? I know a lot of people have them, and tons of NHL'ers use them, so they must have some durability to them, because not all pros change their skates as often as people think they do. I've read the reviews here but I was hoping to get some opinions from people here who have them who didn't post reviews.

2. Do the boots punch out well? I have a couple areas on each of my feet (due to overpronation) that basically screw me out of every skate on the market. The area I would need to get punched is where the bone over the arch is.

3. Is the Vapor XXX a shallow or deep fitting boot?

4. What are the pros and cons of the Vapor XXX?

plus if i go from xxs to xxxs, is it the same size?

1. Mine are holding up well. Apparently the XXX's are a little stiffer than XX's as well. I've had both.

2. I haven't had my punched out so don't know.

3. It's a little shallow but not too much.

4. Only con (for me) is I wish there was a little more anke padding but that's pretty minor. Pros: light, stiff, forward flex.

5. XX's to XXX's sizing was the same for me.

XXX's lasted since August to now, skating 6 times a week, 210 lb kid.

The blade did crack about 3 months in, but replaced them with non-perforated lightspeed 2's and they are just fine now. If I were going to buy another pair, I would see if the shop could order them new without the perforated blades!!! From an engineering materials point of view, they are an incredibly bad idea (work hardening of the stress points at the hole corners).

I only skate a couple times a week at most, so I hope they would hold up well. I don't weigh too much either, only 175 lbs.
