new holders for grafs

Here's the background, I have had Graf 705 in wide for 4 months. Love the boots, but the forward lean is too much and I feel the boot touch the ice when I turn too sharp.

I know there's a lot of topics on replacing the Cobra, but just want to hear feed back from guys who changed over or what would be recommended. Before the Grafs I've always been on Custom or Custom +. Have never been on LS2. I suppose they would need to drill new holes as well.

Switch to Custom +...as I tell people, when that skate was designed, it was with Custom +.

The Cobras are killing me, literally. I feel the heel of the blade lifting when I turn really sharp and fast and therefore loosing the edge and wiping out.

Does that mean they will need to drill holes for the rivets and for runner maintenance? Also in terms of height, are the Customs higher then the Cobras?

Yes and they are shorter than Cobras.

I don't mean to cut in but have you had them profiled? I can't skate on NT 3000 stock profile. My new grafs I'll put a 9' profile on them.

I can answer that...NO! check with JR but I had cobras and then skated in my 8090 with the LS holder and steel and kept bottoming out on cross overs the NT 3000 is a high holder.And several people have told me that today. And I don't think the TUUK+ is any higher than the LS.

LS is taller that C+ in the back by 3mm. C+ is the shortest holder on the market.

I have always skated on my toes even in bauer skates ,so when I had the Cobras put on and JR profile them to 9' Radius I noticed an immediate improvement in turning radius and agility. Now I don't ever want to go back to the LS holder. But if you are having a problem with the pitch thats a different story. But I would try to profile them. What MM are your holders I have the 280mm steel here that was profiled from JR I could send you and you could see if that helps????

Is it possible to have the steel in the Cobras profiled so that the pitch matches the Tuuks?

I wear Graf 705's in size 7W. If it helps the holder size is 264. I would also like to replace my NT3000 with Tuuk Custom +. Do these two holders have the same bolt pattern? I really like the holder system on grafs and I really don't want to drill holes.

Jimmy or JR can do it. The other option is that you could pop custom+ (or pitch or razor blades) right on to the grafs using the existing holes and RMS screws. They hold a lot better than rivets and you don't really need to have rivets in all of the holes if you use the RMS screws.

I thought I put some new Tuuks on Grafs a while back but they may have been old swiss grafs that came with Tuuks on them.

JR, tried sending you a PM but no reply. The easiest way for me to get the Tuuk feel is to profile a new set of steel. Can you do this and send it out? How much would it cost?
