You could shape a tenon in the wood shaft that would fit a composite shaft, and cut an aluminum or composite shaft to fit over that. Cut the aluminum or composite shaft to be 2x the standard blade tenon length.

Then the standard blade tenon would go into the other end of the aluminum or composite shaft.

Not sure I follow either, but if you are talking about creating a "sleeve" to join the shaft and a blade, its not a great plan. A sleeve will create new stress points that were not included in the design of the shaft. The flex will stop and start at the ends of the sleeve. Won't take long to break the end of the shaft again...

I thought the Nike Zero-G was a wood stick, and that jbyun wanted to join the wood shaft to a blade. The sleeve would be stronger than having a hollowed-out bottom to the wood shaft.

Or, now that I'm thinking about it again, he could make a V-joint in the wooden shaft, and shape a wooden blade hosel to fit into it.
