Bag?

Recommended Posts

The season is comming to an end (state is this weekend) and I wont be able to use the schools bag this summer as I dont know if I am staying or leaving to play juniors and usually they dont let you take them. I was wondering where I can get just a normal classic bag that just has the one big pocket that you throw everything into? It can be plain or have writing on it, it doesn't matter to me. I was looking for a team USA or canada one but couldn't fine one, any help would be great, thanks.

Hockey bags are not hard to find. You can get them anywhere including:

- Local hockey shop

- eBay

- Online hockey shop

- Local big box store (i.e. Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart, Superstore, etc)

Got that bag for christmas. Great bag. Theres lil velcrow pockets at each end to put extra stuff in(on the inside). I didnt even know they were they till like a week after I got it. They little round "ring holes" for ventalation have started to rip out, that is my only complaint. Otherwis great bag, really like it.

Does Gerry Cosby still make many of the pro team bags in the NHL and AHL, as well as other sports? I'd had a Cosby Pro Stock from the Utica Devils back in college that was awesome (maybe that's why it disappeared over one summer). Other than their shop at Madison Square Garden, not sure where you could get one. here's their website though with prices (not cheap): http://www.cosbysports.com/bags/

MIA looks like it has a really nice heavyweight Pro Player bag. The order form says all the options you can get, not just colors, but things like internal skate pockets, etc. No mention on how many minimum to order since they're custom down to the zippers. I'd been thinking about contacting them to hopefully get a few at one time if they're on par with the Cosby's ... could store my older/extra equipment in a few, other sports stuff like SCUBA ... maybe even get my basement fully sorted and cleaned up. Why not if they'll have the durability to last forever? My ideal would be an over-sized, single zipper, heavy-duty bag with internal skate and accessory pockets. Anybody have an idea if MIA'd make them something like for 2-4 bags total?

I believe that all the options on the MIA bag order form, you could get for an order of a single bag. I was told by one of their people (Michel) that you could get it in two weeks, that they are now putting end straps on all their bags, and that there may be the possibility of getting custom sizes. Michel was very responsive and if the guy at my LHS didn't offer to bring an Eagle bag back for me from the Eagle factory while he was on xmas holidays (!), I would have ordered an MIA.

Another vote for the Eagle bag. Simple, durable and classic design!

Eagle All the way for a hockey bag, I have mine for 2 years and a half and it is still in decent condition.

I did hear from an MIA rep who said they can do custom for one bag, including now sizes.

I have an Itech BGPRO I got cheap off of eBay; it's a really great bag, large, durable, U-shaped opening, interior pockets with snaps or zippers, adjustable long straps have padded wraparound connector to make them a solid shoulder strap ... BUT the reinforced bottom has no flexibility. It's tough to get through doors, into car trunk, scrapes paint off of any wall it brushes against ... so now all the hard rubber corners on it look like a rainbow from all the things it's bumped. It does measure 38x20x20 so plenty of room. I'd also used goalie bags in the past and on both trips to Europe I used an old Tackla pro goalie bag to carry my gear, extra clothes, stick blades, AND my aluminum shafts.

Was planning new MIA gloves this summer so I'm leaning toward getting a bag or two and maybe a pant shell (or a few in extra colors), all matching and custom options.
