Cut Inno Novius is too heavy

Recommended Posts

When my Inno Novius broke, I cut the shaft about 2" above where the hosel ends (my mistake) I sanded down the hosel on a CCM 1150 blade to fit http://groups.msn.com/Deezersgoaliepics/sh...to&PhotoID=160). So far so good... I thought..

The thing is that this sucker became so darn bottom heavy it aint true!

Why?? What could be done to make the weight a little more even? Maybe cut an inch or two of the shaft and put in a plug? Or would it affect the flex too much?

Or should I pay the money for a composite blade?

Simply adding a wood plug won't balance it out. You could always hollow out some of the plug and put some extra weight in there or just try to adapt.

Try another blade. Either a good wood one (Sherwood 950s seem to be really light) or a graphite blade, but stay away from the Easton Ultra Graphite/ Ultra lite.

i heard from hockey_player_11 that some pro players drill the hosel (i think it was kovulchuck who did it) to make it lighter... of course, they have the big sponsorships and don't have to worry about replacing sticks so i don't know if it maintains the durability of the blade.

that's odd that kovalev would drill his hosel because I've heard that he likes a balde-heavy stick. (as the drilling would make it lighter...)

I know a couple of members here have had his Easton and Innos with holes in them.
