Rounded shaft, "Polymorphic", Pro Radius...

Recommended Posts

I've been using Easton Cyclone shafts pretty exclusively for the past three years or so but I'm itching to try something new. The catch however is that I've grown to love the feel I get from the Cyclone's thinner-rounded shaft so much so that I'm only really interested in shafts and OPS with this sort of feel to them.

Besides the Cyclone, what other sticks give you a similar feel? The old Mission Models (Dangler, Flyweight, etc) had it and so does the Gear Hornet. I've heard that some TPS sticks have it too but I'd I'm sure you fine folks can provide me with quite a few old and new models.

I apologize ahead of time if there's been a previous thread on this!

Some of the TPS sticks come in Pro Radius, I know i had a rubber pro radius before. If you look into Innovative product, on the information labels on the stick, there's the flex and the shaft shape. i.e 260-0 in which the 0 would represent the shaft shape, 5 being the most box like, 0 being the most rounded. The V120 came in C and T in which C represented contoured and T for traditional which is more box-like. The C was rounded at the corners but not as much as the cyclone. I find that the cyclone is the thinnest out of all the rounded shafts. I find the inno 0 is great as it's not too thin. Mission did have different shaft shapes, Biomorphic I think they were called. Hope this helps.

concave and convex are errrr... quite different... were you saying that the stick is something like a trialage(sp)? or is the top convex and the sides concave?

It will be convex in the palm and concave in the fingers. Backhand side is convex and forehand side is concave. Jofa had a similar concept where it was flat on the fingers and convex in the palm...but switched over to the other side where you hold your bottom hand to stickhandle.
