Jbone 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2006 Sunday Bloody Sunday- U2 Um isn't that related to what happened in Russia like 90 years ago? And I don't know for sure as I havn't listened to it in a while but what about Mosh by Eminem
The Stranger 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2006 When the President Talks to God isn't about the war. It's Oberst's personal views on how Bush runs the country. he only mentions something war-related once, but it's hardly the theme of the song. True, but at least I am in the right decade. And it is closer than a lot of Desaparecidos.

Some Desaparecidos songs about war are Poppn' off at the F, $$$$, and a demo that never made it onto Read Music/Speak Spanish just to name a few. But hey mann at least you listen to semi-good beats. markthedeadhead 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2006 Glad to see another real metal fan here..."You finally made it home, draped in the flag that you fell for."As taken from Hourglass - Lamb of GodIn addition:Ashes of the Wake - Lamb of GodPretty much the whole eMOTIVe album by A Perfect Circle if you're looking for anti-Iraq war songs, as that is why this album was recorded....I also can't believe Rage Against The Machine wasn't mentioned until the 2nd page. I thought they'd be one of the first bands listed.

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted March 25, 2006 Big Country's "Where The Rose Is Sown" is a great look at war from two perspectives. It has a bold, rocking sound and starts off with sabre rattling and justification:we're at war...all the papers saywe will win...I read todaywe are strong...it wasn't uswe are right...who started thisleave your work...I just left schoolleave your home...I am no fooltake up arms...it left me strongsound alarms...the school bell ringssons of men who stand like godswe give life to feed the causeand run to ground our heathen foeour name will never diethis time will be foreverThen a bridge where the soldier realizes he might not return:I wait here in this holeplaying poker with my soulI hold the rifle close to meit lights the way to keep me freeif I die in a combat zonebox me up and ship me homeand if I die and still come homelay me where the rose is sown
