Shinguards & Elbows for Inlinehockey

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine plays in the Swedish Elite Inlinehockey League, which is very skilled.

He's old shinguards and Elbows are Beefy (and very protective) Jofa models, from when he was playing icehockey.

Now he is in the market for new ones, what would be very good (and light) shinguards and elbow pads for competetive Inlinehockey?

Thanks in Advance. :)

i actually have suffered way more injuries playing rolloer than ice. if i could do it all over again, i wouldve used the best elbows and shins for roller that i could find. i would use the same jofa/rbk shins and elbows for roller. i use the bulky vapor 6 elbow, and its worth it - i play at a pretty competitive level still and since i upgraded my roller stuff ive been a lot healthier.

Based on personal experience and what I've read here and elsewhere some good light and protective equipment would include:

Nike V-14 (what I now use for ice and may use for roller this summer)

Rbk 6K

Synergy 900

I'm sure there are lots of others, but I've read many positive posts about all 3 of the above listed protective equipment that suggest they're both protective and mobile. I know the Nike V-14 shins and eblbow pads are as I'm currently using both for icehockey.

I play at a fairly competitive level, and I use RBK 4k elbows (I want to upgrade to Easton Stealth S9's). And I use RBK 6k Shins. (I would buy the 8k's but I dont realy see a difference between the two products) If anyone out there can explain the difference between the 6k and 8k shins, I would realy appreciate it. All of the online descriptions have the same exact verbage.

HIGHLY recomend Mission Matrix.

The red ones. They are a few years old but they fit your leg so well and they dont move an inch even when someone hacks or slashes you. Had them for the last three years and not a single complaint yet.

I have a set of the old mission warp shin pads which my brother now uses (they are to bulky for me) So ive been shopping around for a new pair of shins for the past few months.

as for elbows, I use a pair of the old Hespler classics+ feel no need to upgrade at all

I still use my Jofa elbows and RBK shins for both ice and inline. No problems with me whatsoever. If he plays in such a competitive league, I feel that he should stick to his Jofa's.
