Stanley Cup or HHOF?

Would you rather be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame; or win the Stanley Cup?

Tough question;

Do you want to be able to have the one time ability to lift the cup or be remembered forever as one of the greats?

It just means you were lucky enough to be on a good team. Scott Parker has his name on the Stanley Cup, despite the fact he really had nothing to do with it.

The Stanley Cup is a definite. I would want to win it instead becuase if you are star player of a third line player, you each did the same amount of work to win the Cup as a team. Plus not every player is a Hall Of Fame material.

I'd rather be on the stanley cup, because its the most prized trophy in sports. being considered one of the best players in history is awesome, but thats a bit more unrealistic then winning the cup anyways. besides, if you win the cup, your name is there forever, and it will be in the hall anyways.. :)

I look at it this way, when you ask any one of the greats (Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe) what the greatest highlight from the career was they will all say winning the Stanley Cup over anything. It truley is the toughest trophy to win in pro sports, and it's worth every minute of it when you get there.

I was always taught to put the team before self. Cup would be a team accomplishment. HOF would be a personal achievement. Cup undoubtly. Aren't they both in the same building though?!

The cup is the goal and dream of everyone who ever played hockey. Very few people ever made the HHOF who haven't won a cup.

one nice thing about the hhof is that it means you were more than likely able to have a long career, and since playing in the show is basically your job, it means you can provide for your family much easier. that said, I'd take the cup over the hhof anyday.

Id rather win the cup and then hopefully that I played good enough in my career that people would remember me. I think there are some good players in the league that arent in the HHOF but are remembered greatly. Maybe Im wrong though. :huh:

id take the cup, i was just watching the pens/sabres game, and they were making a big deal that james patrick has the most games with out a cup(1235) among active defenseman. plus when people look back at certain players, they saw they had a wonderful career, but no cup
