mickz 107 Report post Posted March 26, 2006 All comes down to personal preference. Personally, I suggest a very whippy shaft with a CCM Vector V20 or higher model blade.

devilsrule711 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2006 well do you use an interm. or sr. flex stick?
jrphantom042 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 sr. i like stiff sticks.. this question mught sound stupid..but what do the effin number mean like "87 flex,102 flex,90flex,100flex"Im not to sure what that means can someone explane it to me?
alvinator 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 in most cases, the higher the number, the stiffer a stick is.
devilsrule711 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 k lets start at the hoghest flex 110 (easton) 112(bauer) basically the same these are very very stiff then 100 or 102 obviously not as stiff but wahat a normal 16+ year old would use then 85 or 87 still a senior flex but this year bauer has the 77 flex as a senior flex and easton got rid of there 75 flex then the new 65 and 67 flexes that are the intermiadiate sticks.so just remember the higher the flex number (ex 110) the stiffer it will be k hope thats clear enough for you you would use either an 85/87 or 100/102 flex stick

BUt what are some or the things people do to take them rocket slapshot,I got told i was an Iceslapper to.. :(
devilsrule711 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 that means you hit too much ice and not enough rubberjudging from that you may want to take your bottom hand and move it a bit closer to your top and that will keep you from hitting so much icealso always keep your top hand in the same spot and always hold the stick firm, extremly firm so you dont get a floppy shotand always follow through and really use your legs and not just the arms those 3 things go for a wristshot tooshifting your weight correctly really helps the speed of the shotif need be and youre really not sure how to do it try and post a video and ill tell you what my shooting coach told mealways glad to help
jrphantom042 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 thanks but i cant lift the puck to save my life, what could it be?
devilsrule711 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 ok that happend to me but i jsut moved from a 75 to a 65 flex and now i can slap it top shelfbut what kind of curve were you usingi beleive a straighter curve wont get as high as a more curved blade
jrphantom042 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 IM nto sure a cheep wood blade it had no curve at all. if i get a deep surve i will have a better chance to lift the pukc more? thanks
devilsrule711 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2006 i guess that could work BUT when i switched from the 75 flex to a 65 i used the same curve with both sticks so i may be wrong about that part but for the sake of trying to get it right try and play around with some flexes you may like the stiffer sticks but it may not benefit you in all aspects but if you see pros taking slapshots you see the how much they flex the stick thats how thye have great shots(and theyre jacked) you have to be able to flex the stick when it comes to the slapshot thats where the all the energy from your wind up and leg movement and everything goes into
