As we head down the homestrech in this years NHL season, the races in each conference are heating up. Who do you think will make the final three playoff spots in each conference? Here are my choices...

West:

6th: Vancouver

7th: Colorado

8th: Edmonton

East:

6th: Tampa Bay

7th: Montreal

8th: Atlanta

Whichever ways the two conferences end up, the races for the final 3 spots will be tight. I think whoever get the final 3 spots will have needed to focus for such a long time that they may be better prepared for the playoffs than the top 3 that they will meet.

What about fifth place for the western conference, if you look the 5th place team, and the 8th place team are only Four points apart.

Who would have thought that Anaheim would get all the way up to 5th place at this time? Way to go Burke!

It looks like Anaheim is on a roll, and will stay on it, until the end of the season. Calgary is also in playoff mode, so I foresee Anaheim staying at #5.

I'll second that.

The Canucks just have a tough schedule with not alot of heart. They have huge games against Anaheim (2) LA (2) 1 tonight and San Jose (2) which will make or break their season but right now I don't see them being able to sneak into the top 8.
