Leafs vs. Sens

Recommended Posts

wow.....5-nil after 2

Nice hits, nice goals, and there is sure to be a fight in the third.

Even if the Leafs don't make the playoffs, which is almost guarenteed, it's been great seeing them play this well the last 10 games

They do look really good night. Stajan's been of fire recently, 15 goals on the year for a guy who spent the majority of the year on the 4th line.

I'm going to be so damn pissed if Toronto misses the playoffs, by a win or two knowing that their shoot-out record was horrible. If they tie in points, wins is the first tie-breaker, and Tampa will take it (assuming they win against either WSH or CAR) while their shoot-out record alloted them more wins that Toronto.

If they miss the playoffs I'll blame the Leaf's injury problems. The most important injury problem: Belfour not getting a season-ender in November.

I couldn't have said it any better......I definitaly blame him for the dismal stretch of losses

What I don't get is why you don't take a penalty on St Louis, after watching Carolina these past two games I see them losing in the second round.

My dad said the same thing, the Canes were far below impressive in the stretches we saw. It was a nice run the Leafs had, but now they are in a crap position. Not a good drafting spot (considering they were #8 at one point) and not in the playoffs. On the plus side, the Habs have a real shot at being knocked out of the playoff race too.

No way does Aubin get a spot on the roster next year without this ten game stretch though, that and various other positives will mean more in five years than a drafting position six spots higher.

On that note, The Leafs are going to have a dirty team when their goalie and defence prospects establish themselves, will just need that top line they have been missing since Quinn decided Sundin would play better with at least one plumber on his line.

the leafs will be doing better without mccabe next year too. my guess is that he will be going to a bottom team with alot of cap room and do the same thing as goncher did this year and just suck...

McCabe had another bad night. The Leafs D will be interesting next year. I think White, Kronwall, Harrison, are all capable of playing in the NHL and playing well. Bell has a shot as well. Cola's a lock.

mccabe is so overrated is hope after this season he doesn't play another game for the leafs. KABERLE ALL THE WAY cheaper and hes a way better player.

I find he's either overrated or underrated. He's a decent #2 guy to have, shoots well and is a little on the crazy side. I think his early numbers fooled him into thinking he was better than he was, which made his "Slide" that much worse. It was obvious he lost confidence in his shot, which was always his best attribute.

Anyone hear anything new about Kubina coming to Toronto as a UFA?

Redden, Chara and Jovo are the biggest names but the Leafs would be stupid not to opt for a two and three over a true number one.

EDIT: Can someone explain the McCabe bashing? From what I see he is a solid defenceman who had a great first half and is only -1 below Karbele. Wasn't he supposed to crash and burn in the new NHL as well?

The Leafs have as much young talent as any other team in the league. Some of the vets didn't hold up their end. If you combine Quinn's poor handling of the lines and his questionable shootout selections, I can't see how he comes back next year. Improved coaching and an added year of experience for the younger guys and they have a good chance to make the playoffs if they make a few good UFA signings.

Kaberle is a great guy with the puck, it's his play off the puck that gets him in trouble.

if the leafs play next year the way they have the last 10 games, i dont' see a reason for anyone losing their job. that said, can someone explain to me why the leafs have such a hard time scoring even strength goals? special teams are nice but how can you depend on bonuses to get you through a season?

Jovo would be the answer to all of our problems, so long as Domi, Belfour, Berg, Wilm, and Belak don't come back.

Berg is awful.. you notice almost every time you watch highlights of a Leaf game and they show a goal from the opposing team.. you always see number 8 either floating back to the net... or wayyy out of position .. he has got to go..

The one Sens goal of the night, of course it was Berg out there. He just let the puck go by him. We really should have traded him at the deadline, we could have gotten a pick for him.
