CCM to Easton sizing

Recommended Posts

Hello first post here...

I currently have a pair of CCM 1052 custom lites size 8, but I am thinking of making the switch to a pair of Easton Synergy 1300's. I havnt found any stores locally so I have no idea what size I would need for the Eastons. I have a little bit of a wide foot so maybe it would be better if I waited til I got to try them on?

When I switched to Easton from my Tacks, I went down a half size.

You'll get many differing opinions so definitely try them on if you can.

Yes, i think you should go down in Easton sizes. If i compare with nike athletic shoes, my skates are 2 sizes less than my shoes which is big. (10.5 for shoes and 8.5 for skates.)

I've got eastons and CCM's. I've switched over the past 4 years from Tacks to Eastons to Vectors. I was a 10 D in Tacks, 10.5 D in Eastons, and 10 D in Vectors. I wear a size 12 shoe.

Has it ever been determined WHY skates are made that way...why not make a 9 skate fit like a size 7.5 shoe....but CALL IT a size 9 skate.

So a guy that wears size 9 shoes...buys size 9 skates and doesn't have to play the guessing game...

Exact same size as me

CCM 1152 : 10,5

CCM VECTOR PRO : 10

RBK 8K : 10

EASTON 1300C : 10,5

SHOWS : 12

I wear a 7.5 in a Reebok/CCM but my Synergy 1300C's are size 8.0's. I've found sometimes I need to go up a 1/2 size because of the slightly narrower toe in some Easton models, but not all of them. It's a small annoyance when buying new Easton blades. :)

I've always wondered this myself...

I wear a 10.5 shoe and went all the way down to an 8 in CCM Vector Pros. And then there's the issue of width between the major manufacturers-- my vector Pros are D width and fit me like gloves, but the Vapor XXs I'd tried before that which were also D made my feet feel like they were undergoing some kind of medieval torture. Everybody always talks about how Bauers tend toward narrower feet, etc.

That might make for another good database for MSH-- a relative comparison sizing chart listing all the idiosyncraties of the brands, sizing relative to shoe size, width, etc. I guess it all comes down to trying them on, but I have to say, trying on the vapors, they felt like the fit and were snug and everything, but it wasn't until I'd been on the ice that the chinese foot binding torture feeling began. I kept waiting for it to happen with my Vectors, but it just never did.
