Ok well I tried to make the title as original as possible!

When i saw that hit on wellwood i was enraged. But when i saw him apologize immediately afterwards, I thought "hey he's alright...somewhat".

...THEN HE DOES IT AGAIN. Takes a run at a pretty good player (Vanek) when the score is out of hand. This guy never gets it. I don't even like or follow the Buffalo Sabres but when someone gives a "clean" dirty hit (flush on the back) the NHL's gotta put their stamp and give him more than 2 games.

yes I agree that it was dirty, but they tossed him from the game which is kind of odd since the hit wasnt all that bad

blasting a guy into the end boards from behind isn't that bad? If vanek hadn't been slightly bent over and done a flip as he went into the boards, he would have hit the boards face first and could have been seriously hurt. The point isn't how bad the hit was, but the fact that when you hit a guy from behind, they are defenseless. The fact that he is a repeat offender, took atleast 1 stride to get to vanek to hit him, although it looked more like 2 or 3, and that the game was out of hand and philly was basicly just trying to hurt players throughout the seccond period just makes the situation worse. If he dosen't get at least a suspension its a joke.

this whole series is kinda turning into a joke tho. 100 shots in two games? in last nights game philly had 43 penalty minutes 38 minutes into the game? and why would you really sit brashere for a guy with 250 penalty minutes in the ahl this year? I know brashere isn't that good, but can you really say that was in an attempt to win the hockey game, and not try to goon buffalo into submission?

I only saw the clip once but it almost looked to me like he left his feet as he nailed him into the boards.

I believe Rado not Eager was inserted in place of Brashear because Rado has a decent amount of speed. Also, I think Eager was in for Umberger who got blasted the night before as Eager was playing on the line with Carter at times.

You should punish the act, not the result. Actual injury should be irrelevant. Colin Campbell has to be replaced as the suspensions are a joke.

I for one, like Gauthier. He has done very good since he joined the Flyers. That hit was NOT, I repeat NOT intentional. Obviously you didn't see the replay. Goat slowed before he hit him, so he wouldn't seriously hurt him. Boarding penalty? Yes. Intent to injure + suspension? No.

mckienzie from tsn had an artical posted almost before the game was over calling for his suspension. Even Barry melrose wants the guy suspended.

even if he did slow down, he still hit him hard enough to flip him upside down into the boards. and If he did slow down, then he could have come to a complete stop and not bashed him from behind. Theres a difference between stopping your stride so you can square your hips to hit someone and attempting to slow down or stop.

Hometown team, I am a Philly fan. Have been, will be. I still don't think he should have been suspended. Fine him, but don't suspend him. Then you could add one more thing that has gone bad for the Flyers.

If he had the time to slow down, he had the time to not drill the guy from behind. The guy throws at least one really cheap shot evey game. He's exactly the type of guy that the NHL doesn't need.

Well well what a surprise. Gauthier gets off clean. I dont get it man. Flyers have been going after Vanek on several occasions in game 2. Campbell is a joke. The only way Gauthier would've been suspended is if Vanek got injured.

Last night someone from Ottawa hit Feditinko(sp?) from behind which was much worse then when Gauthier hit that fruitcup from Buffalo. Is anyone else watching the Buffalo broadcast of the game? I hate this announcer dude!

I love the guy. Now that they are showing the replay during intermission it looks like he didnt try to spear the hell out of him but more like just a stick to the chest. Dumont will be back in the game soon

actually varada held up quite a bit, and when he realized fedetanko was turning he wrap his arms around him.. completey different from any of gaunthiers hits.. it was a hit from behind, but it wasnt a nasty hit from behind..
