Programs Similar To PhotoShop

Are there any programs, similar to PhotoShop, that offer some of the same features that you can download for free? There probably is something like this already, so sorry if there is. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you're on a Windows Box you might want to try Paint.net

Paint.NET

You'll need to have Microsoft's .NET installed for it to work...but it's free and pretty decent

You can download a trial of Photoshop CS2 from http://download.com and you can download it from the http://adobe.com site also.

and there's also gimp, http://www.gimp.org

Okay, as I was installing it, I came to the screen and it says User Name, Organization...and then you enter a serial number or click the 30-day trial. I do that...but when I try to proceed, it says I need a serial number. Help?

I was just about to post about <3gimp<3 great little app for when you dont want to open up mother-f'ing resource hungry photoshop. It is very powerfull and its OPEN SOURCE, woo hoo.

Go for gimp, it might take you an extra 30 minutes to learn but DO IT. In some ways it's better than photoshop. And free and opensource and won't take up as many resources. But harder to learn, but you're a hockey player eh? I'm dumb and I learned how to use gimp. If you're going to be dumb you gotta be tough.

photoshop isnt exactly easy to master either... gimp is probably easier, its just that people are use to photoshop

Gimp is just as much a resource hog as photoshop if not more. Paint Shop Pro is good as well and it doesn't cost as much as PS.

fireworks is for vector images primarily, and it is 400 bucks...

I dont know what version of gimp you are running thats taking up more resources than PS, maybe the windowzzz version?

No Im not, my friend gave me the cd. I was planing on getting but didnt have the money for it, Im sure you would take something like that for free.

go to macromedia.com > register etc and download fireworks 8

go to www.serials.ws www.seriall.com and get a serial for fireworks 8 (get a couple incase)

Okay, do you think you are cool? Wow, I can type in somebodys serial. First of all, people work hard coding this software. Second of all, it is illegal...

Maybe I could respect you if you cracked the serial... but woo hoo for you...
