Half Visors at non-USA Hockey events...

Recommended Posts

I didn't think age mattered. I thought it went under what league your signed to or play in. Because there are people who go to my school who play in the WHL and there only 16 and they wear the half visors when they come out on the ice with us, and there only there when the season is done.

Where i play (other than skate and shoot, thats a free for all) you cant wear a visor until you are over 18 (insurance reasons). And you cant wear a reflective visor because if you get a concusion it doesnt allow the emt's to do what they gotta make sure your still with us. Now like 30%grey volume visors idk. But a quick question while on the visor subject, can anyone from expirience atest to blue visors giving you better clarity. It seems to me, that a clear visor would give you the best optics.

yeah i have a buddy who was an affiliate for the giants this year(born in 1991) and he played on my team and he wasnt allowed to wear a visor in the dub until our league was over. But just for ice times other than leagues through bc amatuer atleast you can wear a visor

My buddy had a blue visor, I tried it for a bit... Didn't like it at all. It takes out all of the yellow light and after your eyes adjust everything that should be white looks white(ok tinted blue but if you have tried it you know what I mean). I guess it would be good if you have a very yellow-lighted rink but I don't see where that would be an issue. It's just really weird when you look down and don't see any more blue visor, not horrible when looking through the visor. I think they're ugly as sin though.

Yeah that would be right becuase his first year of eligability for the WHL would be this upcoming year if he was born in 1991.

I am a ref and we are required to not wear a cage and Im 16. Im guessing it wouldnt be a problem

How exactly would a ref be able to wear a cage?

He could have still played the maximum of 5 games during the regular season and played the whole playoffs if he was asked to play.

That's why I've never taken off my cage from when I started playing 12 years ago until now... whenever I've thought about it I got cracked in the face with a puck or stick and realized what would've happened if I was rocking the half shield.
