Bauer 5090s

Recommended Posts

Are they similar in fit to the 8090s? Or narrow like the rest of the Supreme line? I need to wear a wide in a Graf skate, but in my Daousts the "D" width is fine. The same goes for CCM, but Graf a "D" width is waaaay too narrow. Im looking for a 2nd pair for skates to play in along with my Daousts (dont want to wear em out too quickly). Will a 9.5 EE be too big for me in the Bauer 5090?

I have real tapered ankles anyways so thick padding does not bother me a bit. So a "D" width would be okay? A 9.5EE might be too wide in the area before the toe box?

So I went to the liveperson chat feature that HockeyGiant.com employs and the lady, "Nidya" said that Bauer and Mission run narrower than CCM but didnt say anything about the 5090s. I will probably take JRs word for it that these skates tend to run wider than the traditional Bauers. I might go to my LHS and try out Mission skates as well. Do these run towards the narrow? How wide are their EE models compared to other EE models??

I have a pretty wide foot, and I have the 5090s now.. I got them in D's because I was afraid EE would be too big, and I was right. D's fit perfectly.. and if they don't you can bake them or get them punched out. You can't do anything if theyre too wide.

Missions are a narrow fitting skate even in the E or EE width sizes. If you have wide feet you won't like them. I had a pair of L-7's in EE's and I had to exchange them for a pair of Easton EE's because they where just too tight. The Eastons by the way fit fine. :)

Looks like I will be picking up the 5090s? They're a good quality skate right? How do they compare to a Graf 301?

I am thinking of picking a pair of these as well, and I have to do it online since there isn't a LHS anywhere within driving distance here.

My current pair is an old pair of Vapor 4 8.5 EE, which are just way too tight for my liking. I also have a pair of Nike Shadow 04 rollers in 9 EE, which fit me just fine.

I am leaning towards the 8.5 EE 5090s, should I go ahead and place the order?

Wow, are the xx90s that much wider? The 8.5 EE Vapors were just too narrow for my foot, so essentially I am looking for something wider than a Vapor EE, not just as wide. I am sorry for being skeptical here, but if the xx90 Ds are wider than the Vapor EEs, I might consider getting a pair of 8090s instead.
