Cleaning hockey gloves

Recommended Posts

I wasn't sure where to post this. If it should have been somewhere else, sorry. I was just wondering if anyone has any information on the best way to clean a pair of smelly hockey gloves. I have a pair of ignites in great shape except for the smell. They were tossed in my hockey bag one too many times without airing out. Needless to say they stink.. so I was wondering if anyone had any tips. They're so bad that after I used them my hands would stink if I didn't scrub them for a few minutes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The ONLY luck I ever had was to take it to one of those esporta places. Everything I tried at home only made things worse.

I just got past this with my gloves. I put them in the washing machine. I put a little soap inside each glove and turned on the extra rinse feature. I put them in the dryer on low heat for about 20-30 minutes and then put them out on the deck for a couple days to completely dry. Now before every skate, I put some purell hand sanitizer on my hands and put the gloves on. Haven't had any problems since.

i use something called odor-ban, got it at sam's club but maybe they carry it at wal-mart too. Works great, mix it with water spray it in the gloves let it dry and boom odor is gone and it smells nice.
