Good Similiar Woodies

Recommended Posts

Just got back into the game after about a 15 year layoff. I have been playing for about 2 months now. Using a Sher-wood 5030 85 flex with Bouchard curve. I also have a Zcarbon 100 Shanahan. Find it to stiff right now. I really like the Sher-wood. Does anyone have suggestions for a similiar stick. Not sure I need a composite one piece at this point.

Thanks

i would go montreal m-85 (i believe is the name?), but montreal in general is good, you'll like it if you like sher-wood. the sher-wood 7000 is good also. ps i like the name "canuck77" w/ the maple leafs avatar... thats classy

I also have been using the Sherwood Bouchard woodie. I just picked up a 6 pack of THESE from Hockey Giant. The Thompson pattern is nearly identical to the Bouchard, just a little more of a mid curve than a heel, same lie.

They say they're 80 flex. They're definitely pretty bendy. They're also about 1.75 inches shorter than the Sherwoods.I'm going to try one out tonight. I'll report back & let you know how it works out.

Those bad boys are just Christian woodies re-stickered as Gear.

i'd say no on the christian 1000. i was breaking 1 a shot this yr. i have the 2000s now, custom colored and curved, and i highly recommend those over the 1000s.

So I tried the new sticks last night. It seemed to be pretty good. Took a few slappers in warm ups without any trouble and seemed to have a little more snap on my snap shot. I played the first period with it and had a lillte trouble handling the puck due to the slight difference in the balde and went back to my Sherwood.

Nothing serious, I just need to get used to it and it'll be good, I think. A few games of shinny and It'll be good to go.
