Fury of One 6 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 I hate the score overlay as well. Other than that the coverage has been awesome. Maybe next year they could do more games during the week as opposed to just Mondays and Tuesdays. The announcers don't bother me because I tune them I out. technophile 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 Have the last few Buf-Car games' feeds been really bad for anyone else watching OLN? Game 5 in particular was horrid for the entire first period: video and sound glitches every couple of seconds. It seemed to get better in the second and pretty much went away in the third, but for a while it was almost impossible to watch. It wasn't the cable, as the commercials were perfect () and it wasnt' my Tivo, since it hasn't happened on anything else I've watched or recorded. Reaper 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 it's definetly not internat'l because i live in Canada and we still get the pilot guides and stuff no hockey games on OLN north of the border That's cause they know they can't compete against CBC. I just had a whole weekend of CBC hockey. :) ahhhh.. refreshing No, it is because other broadcasters hold the rights to air NHL games in Canada and OLN does not. It is not a matter of OLN competing with anyone. They simply do not have the option due to licensing and programing rights.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 Now why do you have to go using actual facts in a debate like this? It's just not fair to use relevant information in a topic like this.
Prhockey2607 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 I heard that somehwere in new york they pulled oln off regular cable and made it so you had to pay for the channel so anyone who wanted to watch the playoffs would have to pay extra I think my dad told me he read this somewhere im not sure if its true or not though. We have to pay extra for it in Pittsburgh, PA. It could just be my cable provider.

I forgot about the number one rule of the internet. Never let factual information interfere with the formation of your opinions or argument. ;)
gavin 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 I can't stand Don Cherry. I almost puke every time I see him. Most likely because I'm not Canadian, I don't mind the OLN commentators, even though i don't find myself listening to them much. I think you're the first hockey player I've ever heard say that. American or Canadian. You don't have to agree with grapes on everything to learn to love him.

Um I was just saying that IF all Americans had the choice, OLN would have to solve all the stupid things they do.And BTW, we get CBC on American satellite, American cable AND via bunny ears (in the Keewena Penninsula, Northern Upper Penninsula, MI). And case in point, we always turn on CBC even though we could get the same game on OLN.

Or do you mean that you have NHL Center Ice and, as a result, receive game feeds from CBC's Hockey Night In Canada?

I mean to say that he (my youth pastor) gets it as a regular part of his cable package AND he could get it with his bunny ears if he wanted to (of course we use the cable, Channel 16 on Charter Michigan). And it's got nothing to do with how close we are to the border, his house is like at least 8 hours from the border.
