Dude wait longer than 15 mintues till you bump....People have lives outside of this site

hes waited 11+ days...

nice one!

hehehe! i know the next thing people would tell me is do a search...

i did that... and i found nothing useful... one says something about it being wider than some other skate... or someone doing reviews that u should not believe... blah blah blah...

i want to know how this skate performs... from those who have tried this... or anything similar (like d vapor 19 that someone claims it is like)

thanks!

i am pretty sure it is wider than the vapor line. it is 1 step down from the 8090s. amazing skates(i have them). the part owner of the town rink has them and so do his kids. im am pretty sure he is pleased with them. make sure they fit good before you buy them though.

so in short u would recommend me to get one...

the thing is... ill be purchasing online... actually... i ordered already... i know it is a risk... but got no choice... im a size 10 US... 43 euro...

checked the sizing charts and this would be equal to a 8.5D for bauer... is the sizing chart that they have accurate?

how durable is it?

also... some people have told me that skates not used for a long time become brittle... this skate is technically a year old... in a warehouse somewhere...

Just curious about any other gems of wisdom from your friends regarding older equipment? Care to share?

The skates are very good. And if you got a close-out price, you can't go wrong with 5090s.

got the skates a few days ago...

went to the rink today...

i guess i was so eager to try it out...

tried braking quite hard... boom...

fell on the ground... rather than scraping the ice

i thing it dug deep into the ice...

i guess i shud change the roh...

anyways, i sprained my hand and its swollen right now...

(looked for a plank of wood so that it would

somehow dull the edges... somehow it did...

i can stop better but sometimes it still digs deep...

will this eventually get shallower (the hollow)

or i just have to resharpen them asap?

thanks!

Teammate of mine actually got a pair since they were so cheap...and he says he's having issues with braking too. The feel to him isn't quite right as compared to his old ancient Bauers he was wearing. He's tried doing everything, sharpening, etc. and he still hates them...maybe you might find the same thing -shurg-

I can't think of a logical reason why the skate wouldn't let you stop well. Assuming the skates fit well and your feet aren't swimming in them, it's probably just a matter of getting a good sharpening from someone who'll give you even edges and an appropriate hollow.

Oh, and they don't fit the same as the ancient Bauers. The 5090 and 8090 have different lasts than the x000's (e.g. 6000).

EDIT: Maybe check to make sure the holders are aligned and the steel is straight.

Yeah I figured they were different sizing, but he says they fit him, but he just can't get used to it. I guess that what happens when you skate in the same pair of skates for a million years.

Oh yeah, I recommended he check the holders and steel out to make sure they are aligned, totally forgot about that.
