Thoughts on the worst team in the league?

I wouldn't say they are any worse than Pittsburgh or Chicago.

Pittsburgh has some talent thanks to drafting early for the last five years. Chicago is behind them and St Louis is behind Chicago in talent, but management/ownership is better in St Louis.

Chicago has hope player-wise, just not when it comes to the ownership. Seabrook, Sharp, Bourque, Bochenski, Barker, and especially Ruutu all have a lot of potential.

Don't forget Chicago's been in the rebuilding stage a little while longer too. It wasn't that long ago STL was playing in the playoffs and was a bit of a threat too.

Don't do everything at once and avoid big salaries while the younger players develop. If the team is in no threat of folding I would hold of on high priced talent until Johnson and the other prospects are on the roster. Remember they have Marek Schwartz in the system as well.

The Blues don't have much young talent to come up like the other teams, but like Chadd said their ownership is stable and better than the other two. Short-term they're not going to get any better, but I think they're going to be better in the long run.

They're at least two years away from making the playoffs, but they have a lot of money to spend. If they get some of the vets who like the area to come back at a discount, they may be able to be mediocre instead of bad.

I figure Weight's back on board so at least they'll have a better #1 centre going. As long as they don't go all Neil Smith and spend money just to spend it they'll be all right.

Wait, they still have Brewer. Ew.

Chicago is on that level in my eyes, but Pittsburg is on the rise.

Chicago is packed with solid prospects just the thing most of them are still in jr.

The killer b's plus Toews etc.

i love jay Mckee, but theres no way hes worth $4 million a year. Hes an awesome dman who will play his guts out for the team, but he wont turn a team around.

I think Vancouver will be one of the worst teams this year. They couldn't even beat St. Louis last year. An awful free fall in the second half.

Your basing a team's entire season on what will be four games against the Blues?

Did you not see who's playing goal for them?

If I was Nonis I would have just filled the d with Moose players, thats all you need with Luongo back there, he needs 30+ shots a game and I would of spent Mitchell's money on replacing Bertuzzi

He didn't seem to do too welly in Florida.

As for the overpaying of UFA D-men, that's pretty well how you get players.
