Salary Arbitration....

I saw the list posted on NHL.com of people who filed arbitration. I know what arbatration is, but what exactly are they doing?

Is the players saying "Hey, they need to pay me more money!" or what....please someone clue me in.

The player and agent present their $ number and state the reasons why the player deserves it.

The team states their number and why the player isn't worth what they're asking.

Soretimes it can get ugly.

It is basically that simple. It is purely a numbers game.

Anyone know who the arbitrators are? They have to be third parties and also have to follow hockey closely enough to understand all the information they are being presented from both parties.

The number of sabres asking for it is rediculous.

Many of them were not making much more than the league minimum. I would say now is a good time to ask for arbitration.
