Nope, but I can't say I've been alive for an Isles Cup either. Infact the Isles have won less rounds in my lifetime than Toronto won in the Burns era alone.

Recent history, like in the last 20 years, doesn't mean anything without a cup. Yet traditional history, only goes back till the Islanders won the cup. I see how it is. Very clever. We'll ignore the fact Toronto has the second most cups. We'll just look right past that because they are too far to remember. But we will not talk about recent success with playoff rounds, because it doesn't mean anything. I got it.

Terrific, and for the most part, Leaf Fans think most other fans are a joke as well. It's kind've how it goes. I'm fine with it. I haven't come out and said I think they'll be a good team, they likely won't be. I defend them alot because people jump on them for things that aren't true. Like you did just did a few hours ago.

Just keep painting all of us Leaf Fans with that same brush though.

I still don't understand why you call us crazy dreamers? What have we said that has led you to that? What have either of us said about the Leafs that is unrealistic? Obviously you're just cynical for some reason. I don't expect everyone to like the Leafs, let alone love them as much as I do. If I'm not mistaken, we finished 4 points out of 8th last season. Its not unrealistic to for us to believe that we have a team that is capable of making the playoffs. We have gone above and beyond to address our two major issues from last year. Our defense was terrible, and whether you want to admit it or not, we have drastically improved it. Our goaltending was inconsistent. Do I think that Raycroft is our savior? Not yet, but I have faith he'll return to the top of his game and be a great goalie. Why do I believe this? Because I'm an optimistic fan, not a cynical asshole. I really don't understand where you get off calling our team a joke when the Islanders are a much worse team and have been for quite some time. Then again, you've proven that your agruments don't have to make sense, so I guess I'll just lump this one in with those.

So you're bitching because you voluntarily read about them in a newspaper? Jesus man, I feel so bad that you choose to read about something everyday, and then act like a bitch. And I hate to break it to you, but there are "armchair" coaches and GMs for every team, it just seems like you're stuck around the Leafs. And contrary to what you hinted at, the Leafs were classy when it came to Tie. They shouldn't be expected to keep him on the roster until he decides he is done. That isn't how professional sports teams work. Tie has been a fan favorite in TO for over a decade, and us Leafs fans appreciate all that he did. His time was up, and the Leafs acted accordingly. The fact of the matter is that TO probably was too nice to Tie when it came down to renewing his contract last. He got too much for too long, mainly out of loyalty. However, I guess securing someone a job in the front office after retirement isn't classy at all, is it?

Actually I read the Sun because it's compact and easy to read quickly. Plus it shows up for free. The sports coverage is crap, but the Star isn't better.

I don't understand the hate towards fans who back up their team and hope for the best no matter what. At least we show passion even when we know our team sucks. We know they suck, but we don't want to admit it. :) If you think about it, thousands of people hate the Leafs only because thousands like them. They are the most popular team and just because they don't win the cup every year, people feel that it is necessary to bring them down every chance they get.

I just hate the leafs because i lived in ottawa and for a long time even ottawa people liked toronto more.

Also, Toronto is like the deafult favorite team. Dont know anything about hockey? Dont have a favorite team? Make it the leafs!
