Vector 8.0 and Pro

Recommended Posts

Are the vectors all the same fit or would the 8.0's be different than the pros? I've never worn a vector, what skate would they most comparible to Tack or Vapor ? Thanks in advance.

I've never worn a vector but have worn the other 2, I thought maybe ccm made the boot to fit like a vapor or something i'm going to my lhs to try some on but thought if anyone had some insight it would save a trip.

If you are going to the LHS to try them on, why would you need to know how it will fit if you are going to put them on?

And why would it save a trip? Because you'll just go home and order them, huh...

I swear...next person to openly admit that they do this...

maybe we should start saying shit about how they fit. like saying a vapor is the same fitting as a tacks models.

But you know JR, i could have understand it if he were in the USA and 1 of his hockey store carry that kind of brand and the other store carry another different brand. But ,that not the case he lives in canada. no way you can't have an hockey store!

See, I can smell those customers a mile away. THey are the ones that after we fit them for 45 min they go "So, let me get this right, he needs the BAUER VAPOR XXX, size 6.5 D right?"

Actually I do live in Canada (BC) but will be working in Washington State for all of August, If do buy skates I was interested in buying the 8.0's but last time I was at my lhs The Hockey Shop all they had were pros ( same as everywhere else i've looked) . I do not really want to spend a fortune on top end skates hence the 8.0's.

I've always worn tacks even though they hurt my feet until last year when I bought vapors and I never really liked them hence the comparison I was asking about.

If I was going to buy skates it would be in the middle of August and it would be something different than what I have but if I can't get any opinions about if the 8.0's and pros ( cause I will have to try on the pro's thats all they had as of last week) than I am not going to waste my time on a trip back home just so I can purchase skates so i can break them in before the season starts in September. If they had the 8.0's that would be great i'd try and buy now but I would have to try pro and pick up my 8.0;s in 3 weeks from the hockey shop so if they are different I will just stick with what I have.

Sorry for the long story I've never bought anything online it actually seems like a whole lot of hassle, even from home for me it is an hour to the hockey shop.

why would you do that? If they hurt your feet why would you continue to buy Tacks? Doesn't make a whole bunch of sense.

Finally. These type of posts should be banned. I hate to say it, but more and more this BB is becoming a "How can I bypass my LHS so I can buy online" forum.

Does it hurt worse to get hit the left side of the head with a puck or the right side? I was going to go to my lhs/rink to find out but if anyone can tell me that would be great and save me a trip....

Vectors 10 fit nothing like Bauers. I can't compare them to the Tacks but they definitely run quite smaller in size than Bauers. Same for RBK 8K (both have a similar fit). I'd use the fit guide on CCM site. It appears off in the beginning but it's not. Me - shoe size 10, CCM fit guide recommends 7,5. And thats' about right. I git Vector 10s same size as my current Bauer 7000 pro stock -8,5 . The darn Vector 10 skates are way to big and wide (even in a C width I took). What is upsetting - can't exchange them and it'll be tough to sell them to somebody here (I am currentlly in Ukraine) as people make about $200 a months an average here. Although the girls here are very cute and most of them are not fat at all!

Get RBK8Ks, they'll be on sale soon. The store I bought my Vectors from sells them for like $250 if you negotiate a little. Larry's Sports. Look them up. Danny discounted the skates for me so I guess you may want to talk to him if the rep. who picks up the phone won't sell you for less. I actually seemto like RBK 8Ks better than the Vector 10s. But the Vectors seem to be a tad lighter.
