I'm almost positive he said the A6 medium were like 7.8 ounces each so figure >10 ounces each for the A8 large. they're a little heavier than my hummer's but i have the sprung on a lighter boot so i'm sure it will feel the same.

i know its probably been covered.. but i don't want to search though hundreds of pages.. will the frames still support someone who weighs around 200?

Yes.

the number Keith put on the Sprung Inline page is that the A6/medium will take players up to 325lbs and the A8/large is even more heavily reinforced.

I personally am in the 200 lb range and found the old model to have too much play. I am going to try the newer A6 sometime in the early part of 08 as Keith and other have stated it's a bit stiffer than the old model. I'm really quite happy with the Vanguard, but I'm willing to give Sprung another opportunity to impress me. A friend of mine ended up with the old model and he's happy as can be, not to mention 40-50 lbs lighter than me so it works better for him.

OOH-LA-LA! That's French for these totally badass, un-retouched "Special All Black 8K's" that my Secrete Santa sent me to mount up. These are being flight tested in OC, right now. I'm G-with-E.

RE the skater weight thing. If the kid on these weighs 275+, his A6's will do just fine.

As requested by Keith from Sprung Hockey, my A8 setup with my size 8.5 Easton S11's before I decided to switch to the A6. I just barely made it for sizing recommendations for the A8 but felt that the wheelbase with the 80mm's was a bit long for my taste. It felt great skating on them while I had them on. Looking forward to my A6 setup that Keith is helping me out with. He's a great guy! Thanks Keith!

Skooled, if you were replying to my post in regards to the overhang it was a breeze to skate on. The A8 delivered in performance when it came to edging thru tight turns. With the extra length I was able to dig in with the toe end of the wheel for extra speed after each stride. When it came to skating backwards it was fine but I felt my wheels touch a few times while doing crossovers. It was mental thing in my head to concentrate on not doing that so that I don't trip myself up which is the only reason why I switched to the A6. But all in all the A8 was awesome to skate with!

The new all 80 sprung frames are awesome. Just tried them on last night and I felt an increase in speed and traction! The turning amazing like always, I highly recommend these frames!

Christmas came early to Vancouver Island - my Sprungs just arrived in the mail! I was crossing my fingers to get them before the holidays to get some skating in before the season resumes in January. Oh, the suspense is killing me!

Keith,

How far out are the medium A8s?

Not nearly so far out as they will be farout. I'm aiming for April or May.

In the meantime, we've got a minimum size crossover for the LA8 that seems to be an 8.5-9 Rbk/CCM, a 9-9.5 Easton, and 10.5 Mission. The Eastons and Rbk's are new, but the Missions are old Type M's, so the size might be different now. As more players on A8's let us know their boot size, we'll know more.

I've hauled the picture of these skates forward because they're being tested in OC to see if players like the way they look and perform. What do you think, would this package be competitive in the market?

In a word, HELL YES. I normally don't like the RBKs but those look really really nice.

what price point? I think that really determines if it would be competitive or not. The RBK brand is a known commodity, but the Sprung frame is not to the general roller hockey populace.

That's gotta be one of the best sprung setups i've seen on here. I love that combo.

Assuming it's the same as a reg 8K or maybe $20-25 more like a special package muscle car. The package looks great, and really different if you've never seen Sprungs. So that, along with the point of purchase material explaining what's up, is going to get players to try them on. And that's pretty much it. There isn't anything else in hockey that demos better in a ten foot square patch of floor. Plenty of room for a player to do some tight turns and reverses and then say, "Wow, they're just like ice!" :)
