If by "plain" you mean beautiful, sexy, and completely devoid of stupid gimmick and color combos... then yes they are very plain.

completely devoid of stupid gimmick

no... no gimmicks on that skate whatsoever.

Haha good point... Well I was thinking in terms of color and style at the time. So how bout no aesthetic gimmicks? The rest of the design maybe not so much.

I checked out their website and can't figure out how to pick the color they send you. I'm seeing both black and white, do they have any other colors?

just black and white, if you want other colors buy a white and dye it yourself. Specify color in the notes section of paypal and Keith will process it that way.

Here's some size 9 S200's with A6's and some size 10's with A8's. I've been skating on the Clear Labeda Grippers for a while now and they are very good, regardless of their charming price. Single pour wheels bend around less than multi pour wheels and work great with the suspension.

On a personal note, I no longer recommend Rbk/CCM boots and I don't want to mount any of them in my shop. If you want Sprungs on your Rbk/CCM's that's OK, but you'll need to get someone to mount them for you.

if you could strike a deal with nike bauer and like a vapor XXXX or ONE95 with sprungs was made for their inline division that would be great.

A very nice thought, for sure.

From what I heard today, Nike is out of the hockey business and Bauer is once again the name of the company. Two guys with bucks, one Canadian and one US, both love hockey and Bauer. Just a rumor, mind you.

Also, in the same rumor, was a hint of the possible return of boot only sales. You buy a Bauer boot of your choice without any kind of holder or chassis and mount whatever you want on it.

Years ago when I got my Bauer H-9 Pro's with the Labeda MVP Pro Hi/Lo chassis the boots were shipped to the skate shop having never been mounted or drilled. Hope they do go back to that option.

Could you tell why?

I'm sure he made mention of why a few pages back, no sense in dragging it out here.

Just out of curiosity, what is the weight difference between these and normal frames? Their bulk makes them look quite heavy, relatively speaking.

They feel a little heavier than most of the traditional frames that I've used, but the maneuverability they provide more then makes up for it. I've bent aluminum frames before, but the frame portion of the Sprungs haven't failed me.

You still can. Custom.

I understand it didn't work out, but no need for the comment. Some things are better left unsaid.

yeah, lets talk sprungs, keith are you using rivets in the sprung/torspo set up?

Yep. And they're easy to mount... after I mounted mine. The inside liner is soft Mystery fabric and would probably stop a 22 short, so I had to figure out how to get the drill bit through it before I could get a rivet hole.

I just slapped the ice blades back onto some size 10 S50's so a bud can finish out his AAA ice championships in them. Easy to do when all the holes match up exactly. Win or loose, when ice is over, he'll have his A8's on them. He's one of the three original Kids On Sprungs back when I Always had to sit on the bench with extra parts to replace the ones they broke in games. I still have nasty little short loop dreams about those games. The first thing he and his dad would do when they got to the rink was find me and make sure I was totally available. Father and son are both on A8's.

Sort of like you and yours, Iceburg. And what's up in your neck of the Great North East. Anything from Mr. J and such?

TorspoA8.jpg

I just got a digital scale and these babes weigh 1345 gr each, as is. As ice skates they weigh 950 gr. This is less than my Vapor XVI's, which are 1405 with the same setup. *The Vapors are lighter than anything else I've mounted except for maybe some Eastons. And way lighter than most. Now I'll know as I go. *When held up in each hand and then switched, followed by asking whoever was around to do the same.

With this said, I don't have any real idea what stock inline skates weigh in comparison. I'm into the weight thing cause a German customer is asking.

With that said, I don't think my game will be hurt if I tape a few pennies to the top of each boot. And people like what they like regardless of what it weighs. If it fits and does the job you paid for for it to do, it's just right.
