Girdle to Pants

Recommended Posts

I have worn a girdle ever since I started playing hockey years ago. I would like to try some pants and have been looking at Tackla's. I have no idea what to get. I was looking at the top dog 5000x but I dont need em for mens league but they would be nice. So what is a good pant with good protection/movement? Should I get the top of the line or not? should I go with a different brand?

I have the top Tacks and I had the girdle and shell combo before and I hate the pants compared to the girdle and shell!!! But the protection and movement are great. I played AAA and they are gret pants but I would stay with the girdle and shell combo!!!

What features/functions you are you looking for that your girdle does not provide (weight, movement, protection, comfort, breathablility, zipper/velcro leg closures)?

I dont have any problems with the girdle other then wanting to try something that has some room. I dont want pants that im gonna swim in, im only 5"7" 150, but I would like some that I can put on over my skates. As for features I just want some pants that are light and offer good protection. I play mens B-C league only about 3 times a week.

If you're looking for something with a similar weight and level of protection, any mid-level pant will be a more direct comparison than top-end pants. Any of the offereings in the $60-$90 price range should have at least an equal level of protection and won't feel as heavy as a top-end pant.

How bout Rbk pants? They're semi-girdle, semi-pant...but I personally like the Bauers or Missions, they seem to be less bulky as compared to CCMs. The Itech 6600 is nice too.
