Awful one90 pain

Recommended Posts

First off, I would just like to thank modsquad for the wonderful job that is done here. I have been reading the posts and what not for several weeks, but just recently became a member. The issue I'm having is with my new one90 skates. I tried the search feature and have been unable to locate an answer to my problems. For the first several sessions I have skated on them, my feet have been in horrible pain. I have been a bauer man my whole life and have never had any issues like this at all. I'm quite sure sizing isn't the problem as I tried a few different ones until I was told they fit correctly. I discussed this foot pain with my lhs, but they keep saying just continue skating as it will go away. They were molded and all, but the pain is indescribable. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had similiar problems with them, or if they may have a solution. I have discussed this issue with several others who purchased their skates from the same lhs, and they all complained about this aswell. Thank you all in advance, I look forward to your advice/help.

What sort of pain are you experiencing and where ? I doubt your whole foot hurts. I've skated on mine for the second time today and I had some pain in the forefoot but mainly because I tied them up way too tight, its just a matter of getting use to them. But boy o boy are these skates ever sweet to skate inn, the lower cut stiff yet flexible boot is just so responsive.

Snipes,

Mattopiela, could be on the right track....tying them too tight also caused a lot of pain for me on the outside of both my feet. With the way they're molded to your foot you don't have to tie them really tight. Try tying them just snug on the lower laces and tighter, just on the top two. It worked for me. I think Chadd metioned something similar in another thread. Once you get the tighness to a comfortable level, you're going to love your skates. They'll feel like they're an extension of your foot and leg. It's an incredible feeling when you get the kinks out. Good Luck!

I may have had the same issue you're having.

I tightened mine up all the way like my 7000's the first time I had them on and after about 5 minutes, my entire foot was killing me. As other have suggested, I tried just snugging up the lower eyelets and making the top 3 tight. Since then, they have been great, no pain at all and after 4 sessions, they are completely broken in and feel awesome.

its definitely in how tight you tie them. I tightened them as hard as I could the first time and I honestly wanted to die. After any burst of skating I practically limped to the bench. Since them I've not tied any laces but the top 3 tight and, while theres still some discomfort, its a world better

Snug down low, not loose, tight up top. Tighten up down low during the game after your feet have swelled up a bit. Same as any skate when new.

I have skated on mine for like three times, but there is no really any significant pain only a little pain from the outer sides of my feet. I think the main reason is because i have tied them to tight. But seriously these are the most comfortable skates i have ever had.

Thanks alot guys! The pain I was having sounds quite similiar to alot of yours, and I will give the tightening thing a try. But on another note, even with the pain, they are unreal skates. Took quite some time to get used to the Ls2 powers, and still am not quite there yet, but I am going to love the stiffness (especially when my feet don't kill!!)

edit- Oh, JR, I have been skating in Vapor XXX and XX before that without any issues. Thanx for the help!
