Hartford Whalers return?

Recommended Posts

There was no mention in the article of him moving the team to Hartford. The team would either go to KC or stay in Pittsburgh pending the new arena.

What people say and what people do are two totally different things.

There is already a new building in KC. If they go anywhere it will not be Hartford. Just because a guy has one business based in a city doesn't mean any other businesses must be based in the same city.

Just because you want to see it happen doesn't mean that it is going to happen. Who runs the Civic Center right now? That's right, Madison Square Garden.

I agree it would seem likely that he'd want to move the team to Hartford if he' from there, but if Pitt and KC are more viable markets you'd have to believe thats where he'd want his team to be.

Not only that, even if that were an option, they couldn't get the name. Karmanos owns it as well as the logo. That is why the Whalers are not part of the Vintage jersey line.

look at Peter Karmanos who owns the canes. he's from detroit and also owns compuware in detroit, he also sponsors a cancer center here.

Bill Davison onws the palace of auburn hills, the pistons, shock(wnba)and the lighting, and their buildind aswell.

neither of them have ever said i want to move the team to detroit. i would love to see an nhl team play out of the palace but it aint going to happen.
