I've been really bored this summer with just doing hockey, and I'm thinking about starting back up biking or skateboarding for the time-being. I'm not saying I've become undedicated to the sport, it's still my passion, but I'm looking for something else to do, other than soccer...Which do you guys prefer? Make my choice a little easier. Just want some input. If I do take biking back up, I'll just be riding around wood-trails with some jumps or street BMX. If I skate, it'll be street skating. Take into consideration any injuries that are more prone to each sport too. Thanks guys.

Erik

I always liked wood trails and small jumps on my BMX although i wasn't very good

I always messed up my knees and ankles when skateboarding a couple years ago, again i was never much good.

I have my own skateboard company and I used to be flow sponsored by eS footwear.

I used to bike too, but I split my fore head open really bad one summer riding trails and really havent done alot of it since.

Ive never been hurt in 4 1/2 years of skating(besides some sprained/rolled ankles), but Ive been hurt pretty bad biking.

Skating is just alot more fun for me.

es?? Wow, they're big name :o ...what's your skate company named? What do you guys specialize in?

Oh yes, I have really bad knees, 2 right dislocations, one left. Take that into consideration too...

And if possible, could someone direct me to some decent sites with what I'd need to get back into either? I know about CCS for skating, but are there any other sites for skating and BMX?

basically vancouver scene but it helps for BMX

www.feeblebmx.com

www.bmx-test.com for part reviews

I BMXd a lot until a last summer, I used to skateboard a long time ago too. I was never good at skateboarding and BMX was just one of those things where I was just working slowly to get better. I wasn't too bad at it :P

For injuries I was a lot more injury prone on a skateboard than BMX since it's so much easier to fall off a skateboard. They both hurt but I'd say it's easier to injure yourself on a skateboard.

Yeah that's what I figured. When I skateboarded, I noticed that I was rolling my ankles a lot, and it hurt like a bitch.

I used to ride trails alot, until i caught my foot inside the frame and fell flat on my back. I stopped riding bikes after that.

the biggest pain the arse is banging your knee into your stem

knocks the wind out of you for a minute or two and you can't walk for another minute

mmmmm the stem. I know that all too well. After knee surgery, i nailed the stem and cracked my kneecap in 3spots. What a feeling that was.

Landing on you're back is by far the worst. Well, besides the head.

Well I dont have much reasoning behind it but I love to bike and dont care to much for skateboarding.

I started my tricks at to high of a stunt then I was ready for though

actually I was watching Xgames worst wipe outs and everybody agreed that mine was easily on the top 3 of all of those.
