early predictions for the CUP?

Recommended Posts

I know between Miller and Biron are both very solid netminders, but I don't know how well either can take the spotlight or that they can share the duties... I don't know.

My votes on Anaheim making a serious run.

Ducks and Sharks are some of my favorites. But I have to go with my team, the Habs. I'd say we gave Carolina it's toughest test during the playoffs. So that prooves we have the team to get there, but it would be more realistic in 1 or 2 years.

I've liked San Jose since the emergence of Marleau in 2004, they are my early pick because eventually they should win one.

You gave them a tough time until they put Ward in net and there was no looking back at that point for Carolina.

Except all the other times they had to switch goalies plus Buffalo playing with the Rochester defence and Edmonton the goalies that had them out of the playoffs.

Until Ward was in net and after Koivu's eye was gouged out with no penalty on the play...and even then Carolina won tight games (3 in OT I believe). Ideally I'd like to see the Habs win as well, but the Sabres were the team that impressed me the most in the 06 playoffs even though they didn't win. In some of the games against the Canes they really dominated and if it weren't for the injury factor I think they would've won that series and likely the Cup. So my heart says Montreal and my head says Buffalo.

dark horse pick, I'm gonna say the Bruins go from worst to first on the backs of emerging stars like Bergeron, Boyes, Kessel, and Toivenen.

It'll go to a small market team who didn't sell out half of their games that season. Half way through the 07/08 season the locals will have forgotten all about the Cup and stop showing any interest in the team. They will find a way to lose money in the process.
