Thockey17 1 Report post Posted August 4, 2006 That's the one...Wings And Things! Right there on Fulton and Nassau. Next to the 7-Eleven. Oh damn, i completely forgot about the 7-11. Its across the parking lot, lol. I remember rocking a super big gulp while walking into Wings n Things after a football game at Hofstra. Their hot sauce is rediculous. No way can you finish a plate of wings without like 3 drinks.Im not good with street names in that area. I dont spend too much time around there, unless im picking up food. White castle, Wings N Things, Checkers, Popeyes, McDonalds, and Cherry Valley deli all within a mile. Good eats.

When i first looked at it i thought it was a painting... especially when you look in to the backdrop by the mountains more. Very nice place Jason.
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted August 5, 2006 Thanks. We got very lucky when we bought the house in 1997, because it sat empty for thirteen months in what was a very hot real estate market. I think there were a number of reasons no one put any offers on it:1) He was asking too much.2) It was on a dirt road (which they finally paved last year) in a slightly unknown area on the outskirts of town, although it's only one mile from the Interstate, which makes it 30 minutes from downtown Denver and 45 from the nearest skiing mountain.3) It has decent size, but it really is poorly constructed. To put it in perspective, I think most of the houses at that time were selling for $125+ per foot, but ours was $88.4) But here's the biggest reason: those views didn't exist. When we bought the house, the trees to the north came right up to the windows. We kinda thought there would be views, but we didn't know until I was on the roof one day fixing a leak. Deanna was pregnant, but I told her, "You gotta come up here...." So I first started out to cut down five trees, then came back to the house to look. "Well, maybe those three over there...." Then "Maybe those two...." Next thing you know, I took down at least twenty trees! The funny thing is it ended up improving the fire safety, but at the time it seemed indulgent.Anyway, I have a feeling the house never would have sat empty for so long if those views had existed, so we got really lucky. Now, if only I can one day afford to add the second story I've been dreaming about for nine years..... :D
