Probably looking a full set of 4.8's or someting like that...

Or is there a better brand out there for the same money?

Or should I buck up and spend a few more $$$'s...

Remember I've only played nets twice...

Stuff isn't too bad. I was looking into the stuff when I was picking my way into the goalie world. I'd say it's better than using Tour stuff on ice, and overall isn't bad considering what you pay. Mission isn't too bad if your in that price range also...but the more you spend, the better quality stuff you get. I dont recall if Itech has nylon sides or not, lotta lower level pads do, but moving up a little you can get away from the nylon and get a bit better performance, especially sliding...and the materials used in nicer pads last longer too.

Check out the Mission and DR pads in the same price range. The 4.8 is decent but I think the others offer better value.

Forgot about DR...those are very good and good value. Think 5.4 are the new ones (I think?), but the 5.2 are the older version, and they are very cheap, at least I saw the pads for a realllly good price.

Check out the DR 6.2 line if you can find them. I've been using the leg pads for about a year now (I started last year as a 30 year rookie goalie) for roller and ice and I really like them. I also had a set of '05 Mission Motions. I like the DR stuff better, except for the glove. The Motion glove is way better than the DR 6.2 glove for me. I just switched to full right, so right now I am using Mission Motion glove and blocker and DR 6.2 leg pads.

I'd look for used higher end gear, saves you a ton of money.

P.S. If you're looking for a mask I have a brand new one that I'm selling(for someone that plays in C,D or beginner).
