1500c question

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a pair of Easton 1500c's and I was wearing Bauer XIX's before. The boots on the 1500's is like skating in a dream, but I feel like I'm falling forward when I try to pick up speed, I just can't seem to get used to it. I work at a rink so I have been staying after the rink closes to skate and get used to the skates, but it just hasn't happened yet. Has anyone else had this problem with their 1500's? because I have noticed that alot of people change the tuuk's out on these skates.

The holders on the Synerys are not Tuuks they are Easton Razor Blades. They are pitched differently thats why people change holders to what they are used too. Ive had 2 pairs of 1300c and both had TUUK Custom + Holders put on. Im getting 1200c skates tomorrow and are probably getting Lightspeed 2 put on.

I came off Grafs onto the 1300's/1500's...it was a nightmare the first 10 or so skates. Took me months to finally get used to the chassis and blade. Get them profiled to what you are used to and you shouldnt have any problems.

On a slight highjack, can anyone tell me what the closest grind to grafs would be for the blades?

I had the same experience when first skating with the 1500c....I hate to admit, but I even fell backwards a couple of times in the process. But rather than change holders, I decided to stick with it and now it seems better.

Also, I love the skate as well coming from Pro Tacks. The skate doesn't seem like it would be comfortable since it's so stiff, but like everyone says, if it fits your foot, it's awesome!

11 ft radius with a forward pitch, JR could probably tell you the exact degree of pitch needed.

IIRC the stock radius on the 1500's is 9ft. I would just keep doing some skating drills and get yourself used to them. After my first skate i was pissed because they felt so awkward, but it only took me about 2 weeks of skating to get used to them and once you get used to them you will love them. I think alot of people change out holders just because they can, without any good reason to do it.

on a side note, you might be able to get the profile of the 1500's to whatever your old skates are at a decent LHS.
