Drury curve

Recommended Posts

Hi All! I know the curve topics were listed many times, but I am still wondering.

Currently, I am Defence and use Lidstrom curve(P02 / Jovanovski). However, my cos wants to trade sticks with me. He wants to switch to Lidstrom (We use same sticks, SL, his stick is newer one). Well... everyone I know has NO idea about

Drury curve. So, My question is which curve is able to elevate the puck higher??

EDT: Oh, I mean I perfer the curve, which can go higher.

Well you're looking for a curve to get the puck higher, plus you sound relatively new to hockey (judging from your posts) so I'm guessing control is not part of your arsenal.

well... most of time on ice, my coach wants to me just stay one spot and shoot a puck (I think). Additinally, I'm not like a guy who do all the stick-handling everytime.

In hockey you dont stand still and shot pucks the whole time. You need to do stick handling sometimes. And you dont want the puck to go high, you want your shots to go as low as possible, so 1) they can be tipped in by your forwards and 2) you dont hurt anyone.

Yeah, the only two people I've ever heard of that stayed stationary and shot were Mario Elie and Fulton Reed. Seeing as how one was in the NBA and the other is fictional, I'd have to question your coach's tactics.

About number two i mean if you can put it where you want it it's not a problem to put it high if you know you can hit where your aiming at.

Another guy that stood still was the master of the knuckle puck.

when I first switched to a drury my wristshots got a lot of loft.. a little to much.. but after a few shots you get used to the curve. slapshots/snapshots never really had any height issues after the switch.

If it makes any difference I've gone with the lidstrom and have found that to be the best curve for me. drury was a little tougher to stick handle with.

I thought that was Fulton?! Or was it Russ (Kenan Thompson)? :P

On a more serious note, through my technique of shooting, I feel it's easier to lift the puck with the Drury.
