Sizing help for 8090

Recommended Posts

Trick question? The 8090's are a bit wider than the 4000, quite a different fit.

Read that the 8090 are of a classic fit, and my Bauer 4000s are about 10 years old. Would that be "classic" enough?

Not really.

IF we are talking Supreme Custom 4000...then yes.

Yup, those are the ones. So they belong to the classic fit category? I'll try to get a picture for confirmation.

I've worn Bauers my whole life from the Supreme 100 to my current pair of Vapor XXs. The 8090s were the first pair that did not fit my feet. They were much, much wider than the Vapors and every other Bauer I have ever worn.

The problem I had with 8090's was the area where the tongue meets the toe cap. There was at least 1/4" of empty space between the top of my foot and the skate boot. My forefoot didn't feel secure at all in that skate.

I highly suggest you try them on prior to purchasing them. If that's not an option then you should at least order them from somewhere with a no hassle return policy.
