paypal account

Recommended Posts

my dad got his credit card bill te other day, and there was a 600$ bill for a plane ticket to like ireland or something.

he doesnt have to pay the 600$, but it is bad that i didnt even know someone got on our paypal account and used it.

i cancelled my account for paypal and made a new one.

i think i am lucky that it was only 600$, but it could have been worse.

has anyone gotten money "stolen" on paypal before?

All PayPal transfers appear on your bill as *PAYPAL*(recipient's PayPal username), so I'm assuming the $600 charge was listed under that.

i m trying to sell my ipod and people from nigeria keep buying it and saying they need a shipping reciept before they'll pay and to only say it was worht 10.00 so it wont cost alot in customs, but supposedly this has been happening alot cuz i called paypal about it and the second i said nigeria they said no, most things bought from nigeria are fraud so i don kno what to do, its happened twice already.

Yeah, I wouldn't sell to a place whose chief exports are war crimes and incurable diseases.

I actually laughed at your comment.

Yea, its a pain in the ass when you are trying to sell something. If its worth anything, be prepaired for spam from Hamalalalababalla from Nigera who wants to give his daughter a gift before she heads off to college. If you sell internationally, chances are it will be bought by some scam artist and you will have to report it to ebay and relist or be prepred to be jipped.

I don't even ship to Canada anymore. I just lost $75 in shipping because somebody claimed they didn't get the package and I was too stupid to get a tracking number. Nothing against the Canadian post, but its too expensive, too much of a hassle and really just not worth it on my part.

LC, you might want to have your dad cancel the card and have a new number issued, just in case.

Jasper, just put in the listing that you won't sell internationally. I believe that you can also contact the second-highest bidder to see if they want to buy the item, as this has happened to me with a pair of gloves before.

Actually ebay should let you blacklist certain countries since even if you check domestic shipping only anyone can still bid on it. I just had a nice guy from Hungary buy a pair of Slip-Ons off of me with seconds remaining while I clearly said no int. shipping. Bottom line he was unable to pay for almost a month then when I relisted he told me he just made a bank transfer and two days later I got money minus 20 $ banking fees that he forward to me. WTF? Now I´m sitting on half the money and he wants the shoes or money back. There just won´t be any money after fees if I send it back
