Primeau Retiring

TSN is reporting that Keith Primeau is announcing his retirement on Thursday.

Possibly one of the best power forwards of all time. Who will wear the 'C' will it be injury stricken Forsberg? Hatcher?

Gagne's refused the C once already, I think Sami Kapanen should get it, honestly.

I don't think Derian Hatcher deserves the C, and Hatcher and Hitchcock aren't too fond of each other as it is...right?. Forsberg is the only other logical choice, besides Kapanen.

I do find it funny that ESPN.com has a poll on the NHL section though. "Who should be the next Philadelphia captain? One of the choices? MICHAL HANDZUS!!!!!! And people even voted for him!!!

According to most sources, yes. He's also the guy who, according to most reports, wanted out of Detroit because he wasn't getting enough ice time. Then he held out a couple years later in Carolina, then led the revolt to oust the reigning Jack Adams award winner shortly after arriving in Philly. That said, things may not always be what they seem and Keith has always been nice to me and treated me well.

I always thought the Detroit Primeau trade was a little weird. They got shelled by NJ (I believe) a year or two before the trade and Primeau had a great playoff. It was one of Bowman or their GM who said he's save and won't be traded for anything.....didn't last too long
