bulletproof_funk 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 I used to switch patterns often out of curiosity. Every pattern I've tried seemed to have something I liked, but something I didn't. I tried almost every Easton pattern and a few others before reluctantly trying the Drury, and I only tried it because I felt like I was out of options at that point. It turned out that it was the best pattern for me because it had all of the things I wanted in a pattern and more, and it didn't have anything that I disliked enough that I couldn't deal with it. I changed my style slightly to adapt, more like learning new techniques, which is a good thing. 3 years later, every stick I use regularly has a Drury or a clone. kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 I been using messier for a while now. Love the curve, but I hate the fact that the stick has to be at my nips because the 6 lie. Just slapped an old CNT z-carb sakic in a broken response and I am hooked on the sakic now. Perfect height too. I seem to have mood swings with curves. I love it at one point and then I wanna dump it and find something new. But yea, Ive used everything from Modano to Yzerman. I like mid curves the most. Medic 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 When I first started I just went to Sport Chek and bought a whole slew of cheap Easton wood blades (Shanahan, sakic, etc) and used them until they broke. Sakic was the last one I used, and because my shot was the best with it (because it was the last one I used, while still learning... false causality, but thats ok...) so I stuck with it.I occasionally use a Datsyuk, and figure I should try a Drury eventually, but with stick prices what they are I'll stay with Sakic/Naslund. echi24 1 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 i saw a true1 on sale and bought it in a kovalev curve. it was great, and i stuck with the drury type patterns. then prostock xn10s were on sale for a hundred bucks, and the only pattern with loft was the p16 (retail tucker curve), and so i switched and was able to adapt without a problem. just bought a domi, with is similar to the tucker with slightly less curve.i find that sometiems changing curves every once in a while helps me get an idea of my shot mechanics, and sometimes ends a slump. i experiment when i can.
