Being as I just got my completion date for the new ride, I figured I'd see which set of wheels everyone likes. I love the Techart's, but find myself liking the HRE's more and more.

Also, are the 22" Techarts too big?

i'd go with the techarts as well. i've seen so many variations of the hre design that it just bores me. the techarts are different. if plus sizing your wheels to the 22" rim size doesn't effect the overall diameter of the wheel, your gages should be fine. unless you don't car about that and are just going for the look. then just crazy with it anyway. i love the second pic with the trailer that has porsche rims on it.

Techarts. There's something about the HRE's that makes them look bad on that car. Might be how busy they are.

I know a lot of people swear by it but I tried Zaino and I honestly cannot see a noticeable difference between it and other stuff I've used (eg Meguires Gold). Maybe its because of my cars color (red, non metalic). Plus its expensive and a paint to order and apply because it takes a few days to do properly. I'd like to hear if anyone else has had experiences with it. I would like to try the 3m stuff but I can't find it locally.

oh. and it looks like I'm in the minority but I like the HREs better. Polished would look good. Deep dish all the way.

i use zaino on my arctic blue pearl rsx. i notice a difference big time. after a couple coats of the stuff, the piant gets really really deep looking. accents the pearl in my paint very well. its a real process to put on though, that's a major drawback. a good positve is that it lasts a really long time after you get a couple coats on. i've gone through several washes before it started to go away.

I usually use P21S. But because Zaino is good with darker colors, I might have to give it a try.

P21S might be one of the few waxes that I never tried. I have a black TL and I think the Zaino makes the paint look wet and reflective. Plus it holds up to the great New England weather. ;)

Use to use Meguiars Medallion and Gold Glass. Good waxes, but not as durable or reflective as Zaino IMHO.

hmm. Maybe next time i use Zaino I will do a test panel so I can do a direct comparison. After putting the stuff on in the order Sal Zaino told me to, and doing the alternating coats of swirl remover and polish, and spraying the stuff on between coats of swirl remover and polish, and buffing in straight lines up and down. I was sorta disappointed in the result. I wanted my car to look the same as the ones on their website. I think that metalic paints naturally look deeper than non-metalic ones. It's something that I will keep in mind next time.

Ive found that by far the most worth while detailing accessory that I have tried over the years is a clay bar. Its amazing how much bonded contaminants is in your paint. And the clay bar makes your paint feel as smooth as glass.

Non-metallic paint are naturally deeper than metallic paints. Zaino works really well with dark paints, but there are better alternatives for different kinds of paints.

With the options I got, it cost me a bit. And I got the S. I'll drive the 996 if I wanna go fast.

There is a V6 Cayenne now, just to let you know.

Thanks man.

The Challenge wheels are a different kind of BBS wheel.

Porsche and BMW also use BBS wheels on their GTR cars.
