Christian Detroit pattern

I used to use the christian blades with the red strip along the bottom in detroit pattern. This was a while back, anyway it was my favorite curve of all time. The red strip made it stiffer and very durable for street as well, but I haven't seen them around for a while.

This was before I KNEW about 3/4", mid, heel, open, closed and such; I just liked the looks of it and LOVED playing with it.

Anyway I was at the christian website the other day and they offer the detroit pattern in a wood blade-no red strip. But they described the pattern as 3/8", mid, lie 5.5; so I started looking for similar patterns. The closest thing I can come up with is the Iginla and the Hull/Leopold2.

So, my questions to you guys are:

Have you used the Detroit pattern?

Have you used the Iginla/Hull/Leopold2?

What do you think of these patterns?

What else would you recommend?

I found out I can't get the christian blades I want. Any info on the others mentioned would be great.

That would put you at the Gaborik.

I don't think Christian makes a version with the kevlar band on the bottom anymore. Is TPS still making the Omega blades? I don't have a catalog in front of me but those were pretty similar to what you describe.

Yep, the Pro Stock wrap is still offered in the Omega. You can get the X-Lite wrap (glass/kevlar) custom.

who makes the gaborik?

so, easton makes the gaborik, but it's 9/16", not 3/8". also they don't list it on any of the blades as available, is it new?

I believe the Easton Gaborik is the renamed Yzerman, so you could look for that as well. You don't want the mission Gaborik, as it's a different pattern

SOrry - i saw the 3/4 before the 3/8"

Based on that, your closest would be the Iginla/Leopold 2, which would be a tad bit bigger (1/2")
