You know, if you watch the video, technically it was not a hole-in-one.  He addressed the ball, then swung and completely missed.  Since he addressed the ball, this is not considered a practice swing.  So, technically, this was just a birdie.

...I believe he was just on the range when he whiffed. They didn't show the swing that resulted in the ace.

Those whiffs were definitely in a tee box, maybe not the hole he aced, but definitely a tee box and not the range.

It looks to me as though he is in the end "station" at the range. I don't see a fairway/green area in the vicinity to which he is hitting. I could be wrong, though.

I remember the first time I saw that 4 or 5 years ago and still to this day I get scared everytime I see it thinking he's having a mid swing seizure or something.
