Yeah, Most prep schools are like that, I don't know of any colleges that are just straight up Hockey. A buddy of mine just graduated from the NSA over the weekend, he's playing D3 hockey this fall at college.

One of the guys on my team has a daughter going there.

This sounds similar to a "hockey high school" in my town (in Sweden), this is actually the school that both Peter Forsberg and Markus Naslund went to (other guys like the Sedin twins and many others have also attended this school). You take regular school subjects and combine it with hockey practice during school hours.

Here's their site with info and stuff (in English!).

NSA is a lot different than a lot of people think. you dont just go there to play your winter sport (ice hockey, downhill-cross country-and ski jumping, and theres a few lugers and snowboreds). at nsa if any of your grades drop below a C you cant compete. unlike other preps however, you get up in the morning and train, and you have classes from after lunch until six. they make your school schedule flexible because of travel as well. I dont think any schools out there focus on hockey over academics, academics should always be the top priorpity.

there is a highschool in alberta, banff hockey academy, which fields a junior team in the hertiage jr b hockey league. kids come from all over there to play, and they send you to the local high school and board you. Its basically like going to play juniors but without living and supporting yourself on your own.

if your looking to focus more on hockey I'd suggest a junior team, so you can just go to normal high school and play for your team.

in quebec sport-etudes is the best example of this, go to yahoo.ca and type sporte etudes. i think its 3 days of classes, 2 days of sports? not sure tho.

NSA and northwood prep are good examples in the US, plus shattucks has a lot of travel and is kind of the same. all prep schools int he national division i believe are liek NSA and focus hard on hockey
