Nabokov to the B's?

Recommended Posts

Gagne was a top end scorer through junior and was still developing before Forsberg arrived - not to mention he was getting just under 16.5 minutes per game in 2003-04.

Cheechoo played 15 seconds less than Gagne in 03-04 and wasn't even a first line player until the playoffs.

They got 20.5 and 20 per game respectively last season, each's first with "legitment all-star centers on their line."

Anyone who follows the Flyers or even the NHL for that matter would realize that Gagne was disapointing at best in his first 5! seasons. Gagne is basically a veteran of the NHL by now and hes just hitting his potential with the leagues best passer. Is that the kind of guy you want to lockup for 5-6 years when hes not centered by an assist machine?

Gange was not used properly during most of his career in Philly, and when he was playing well and scoring Hitch would change the lines up and put him on the third unit. Plus, he used the lockout to get into the best shape of his life.

Funny thing about this whole thread is that Nabby has a no-trade clause in his contract. Sharks can only trade him if they don't make the playoffs. You'd think that Eklund would at least check some basic facts before he pulls stuff out of his ass.

I think Nabby would waive his NTC pretty fast when given the chance to be a starter for a different team, or stay with the Sharks and be a backup.

Speaking of Gagne.. the same source that told me that he was close to signing with Philly just told me today that there are big possibilities that Gagne will be traded to Calgary against Iginla... Now we both agree that this wouldn't do any good to both teams or at least to both players but it seems that that trade was almost a done deal last year and that it would be done this year... That source has his sources close to Gagne himself but it doesn't mean it will materialized in the end though.. but he was indeed right about Gagne signing with Philly
